Requirements

For an invitation to be entered in the register of invitations, the following requirements must be met cumulatively:

1. The entry was requested by an authorized person, called the Invitee

The following may apply for an invitation to be entered in the register of invitations:

  • a Polish citizen residing on the territory of the Republic of Poland;

  • a national of another EU Member State, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland or the United Kingdom – the beneficiary of the Withdrawal Agreement or a member of their family residing on the territory of Poland and having the right of residence or the right of permanent residence in that territory; Check if you have the right of residence / permanent residence in Poland as an EU citizen / NO / IS / LI / CH or a family member / as a citizen of the UK or a family member)

  • a foreigner staying immediately before the invitation was issued legally and continuously for at least 5 years on the territory of Poland or holding a permanent residence permit or a long-term EU resident permit;

  • a legal person or an organizational unit without legal personality having its registered office on the territory of the Republic of Poland.

2. In the application for entry was submitted on the form

In accordance with the template set out in the above-mentioned Regulation of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of 20 December 2020.

3. The inviter has documented the possibilities of fulfilling the financial guarantees resulting from the invitation

The inviter should have financial means to cover the costs related to the foreigner's stay on the territory of Poland (including the costs of their accommodation and food) intended for themself, each family member dependent on them and each invited foreigner, at least in the amount of PLN 515 for each month (1-12) of the planned stay for each of these persons, i.e., according to the formula PLN 515 x (X+Y+Z) x max.12 months, where X is the inviter, Y – family members dependent on them, Z – invited foreigners.

If the invited foreigner is a descendant (i.e., child, grandson, great-grandson), ascending (i.e., parent, grandfather / grandmother), spouse, father-in-law or mother-in-law of the inviting spouse, one of the inviting siblings or one of the children of the inviting spouse, then the required amount per person is not PLN 515, but PLN 200.

If the inviter is a natural person, they do not have to have the entire amount at the time of submitting the application – it is enough that they have the necessary amount in each month of the planned stay of the invited foreigner.

In addition, the inviter should also have financial means to cover the costs of the return journey of the invited foreigner to the country of origin or residence or the costs of transit to a third country that will grant permission to enter, in the amount equivalent to a ticket to that country, but not less than:

● PLN 200 – in the case of a return journey or transit to a neighbouring country;

PLN 500 – in the case of a return journey or transit to an EU Member State not adjacent to Poland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Switzerland;

PLN 2,500 – in the case of a return journey or transit to other countries.

In terms of the costs of return journey, it is possible to present a personal return ticket, purchased for a foreigner, to the country of origin or residence of the foreigner – then the costs of return are not included in the settlement.
