Fees

For the issuance of the (first or next) residence permit, a fee of PLN 100 is charged. A fee of PLN 100 is charged for the replacement of the residence permit, except in the case of its loss or culpable destruction by the foreigner – in these cases, a fee of PLN 200 is charged.

The fee for issuing or replacing a residence permit is not charged in the case of:

  • issue the first residence permit to a foreigner who has obtained in the Republic of Poland:

- refugee status,

- subsidiary protection,

- permission to stay for humanitarian reasons;

  • issue the first residence permit to a foreigner who has been granted a permanent residence permit in the Republic of Poland as a member of the repatriate's immediate family;

  • issue a residence permit to a foreigner who has been granted a temporary residence permit referred to in Article 186(1)(8) of the Act on Foreigners;

  • issue the first residence permit to a foreigner who has been granted a permanent residence permit pursuant to Article 195(1)(10) of the Act on Foreigners;

  • where the document issued or replaced contained technical defects;

  • exchange of a residence permit due to the circumstances referred to in Article 241(5) or (6) of the Act on Foreigners.

A reduction in the fee (in the amount of 50%) for issuing or replacing a residence permit is granted to foreigners:

  • who are in a difficult financial situation;

  • whose purpose of stay is to receive education in a secondary school and a higher education institution on the territory of the Republic of Poland;

  • minors who, on the date of submission of the application for the document, are under 16 years of age.

The documents required to obtain a reduction in the fee for issuing or replacing a residence permit are:

  • a certificate from the competent social welfare authority on the use of cash benefits from social assistance at a given time;

  • a certificate confirming that they have been received at a given time of secondary or higher education;

  • a copy of the birth certificate of a minor foreigner, and if it is impossible to obtain it – a travel document or other identity document confirming the age of the minor foreigner.
