Application for extension of stay in visa-free travel

An application for extension of stay is submitted to the voivode competent for the place of stay of the foreigner on the territory of the Republic of Poland, in person and no later than on the last day of legal stay in visa-free travel.

The law does not indicate the form of submission of the application in the visa-free regime, however, as a rule, the application should contain a minimum set of data of information necessary for identification (name, surname, nationality, date and place of birth, type, series, and number of the travel document, issuing authority, date of issue and period of validity) and justification for the application.

The extension of the stay in visa-free travel may occurs once.

If the application was submitted on time, does not contain formal deficiencies or formal deficiencies have been removed on time, the foreigner's stay is considered legal until a negative decision is issued by the voivode.

Necessary documents

• the application for extension of stay under the visa-free regime is submitted in Polish

• the travel document must be valid at least 3 months after the planned date of leaving the territory of the Republic of Poland, contain at least 2 free pages and be issued within the last 10 years (for the purposes of verifying the legality of stay, a copy with all saved pages must be attached)

• other documents confirming the purpose and conditions of the extension of stay (invitations, printouts of bank statements, reservations, etc.) must be submitted.
