Cancellation

Polish travel document for a foreigner shall be cancelled in the case of:

• loss or damage to this document (from the date of reporting its loss or damage to the competent authority);

• exchange of the document due to the change:

- the facial image of the holder of the document in relation to the facial image placed in the document to an extent that makes it difficult or impossible to identify the holder of the document (on the date of receipt of the new document),

- data placed in it (on the date of receipt of the new document);

• acquisition of Polish citizenship by a foreigner (on the date of expiry of the deadline for returning the document);

• the death of the holder of the document (on the date on which the authority became informed of their death);

• when a foreigner to whom another document was issued after the loss of the Polish travel document for the foreigner, returned the recovered Polish the travel document, unless this document has already been cancelled (on the date of its return);

• when the foreigner has not returned the Polish travel document to the foreigner after receiving the travel document (immediately after the foreigner has obtained information about receiving the travel document).
