Cancellation

Polish the foreigner's identity document is cancelled in the case of:

• loss or damage to this document (from the date of reporting its loss or damage to the competent authority);

• exchange of the document due to the change:

- the facial image of the holder of the document in relation to the facial image placed in the document to an extent that makes it difficult or impossible to identify the holder of the document (on the date of receipt of the new document),

- data placed in it (on the date of receipt of the new document);

• acquisition of Polish citizenship by a foreigner (on the date of expiry of the deadline for returning the document);

• the death of the holder of the document (on the date on which the authority became informed of their death);

• when a foreigner to whom another document was issued after the loss of the foreigner's Polish identity document, returned the recovered Polish the foreigner's identity document, unless this document has already been cancelled (on the date of its return).
