Rights and obligations

Introduction

A party to an administrative proceeding is anyone whose legal interest or obligation is affected by the administrative procedure, or who requests action from an authority on the grounds of their legal interest or obligation.

An administrative procedure is a specific mode of action by an administrative body aimed at establishing these rights and obligations. The Code of Administrative Procedure contains a number of principles that guide the administrative body when considering a case, and which allow a party to shape its rights and obligations.
