Return

A foreigner is obliged to return Polish the foreigner's identity document to the authority that issued it when:

• acquired Polish citizenship;

• a decision was issued to cancel this document.

The document must be returned immediately, but no later than within 14 days from the date on which:

• a document confirming the acquisition of Polish citizenship was delivered to the foreigner;

• the decision to cancel that document was final.

Note: at the request of the holder of the document who returned it, the authority to which the document was returned shall issue a certificate of return free of charge, valid for a period of 30 days.
